@SharpsideNBA
Hey everyone, I will be posting all my NBA picks now on X (Twitter) at https://x.com/sharpsidenba?s=21&t=6NZGeB4Cc-Hb2rCo3Gjirg if you are on Twitter give it a follow. Here is my first post:
About me and my approach:
I am a former college basketball player and huge fan of the NBA, my team is the Toronto Raptors, but I generally just support and enjoy good basketball. I am a natural contrarian with strong opinions on sports and especially the NBA. I took up an interest in sports betting 5 years ago. I started out very casually and over the last couple of years have taken it more seriously. I have tracked my NBA picks for the last two seasons and now have a legitimate track record of being profitable on NBA sides. I don’t have a sophisticated algorithm or model that I use, although I do appreciate that approach and would love to learn more helpful math/modeling. I do track several advanced stats and use analytics in my process. I rely heavily on my power rating system, I try to attack lines at open where I see pricing opportunities. I have a strategic approach to identifying scheduling spots to play-on or play-against teams and tend to see a fair bit of opportunity vs market when impact players are out of a line-up or coming back into one. I do use my basketball experience and knowledge to identify match-up opportunities to a certain extent, I tend to lean generally toward high compete levels and good defensive teams more than offensive but am aware of that bias. Also, I believe confidence is one of the most important factors in sports, especially with basketball given the streakiness of teams, players and shooting. I realize confidence is difficult to quantify but over an 82 game season if you can identify confidence swings with teams and impact players it can be a significant edge.
